Moving fluidly between cultural context and historical reception, competing philosophical theories of time and close reading of the repertoire, Benedict Taylor argues for the continued importance of engaging with music's temporality in understanding the significance of music within society and human experience. At once historical, analytical, critical, and ultimately hermeneutic, The Melody of Time provides both fresh insight into many familiar nineteenth-century pieces and a rich theoretical basis for future research.

Enjoyed reading

Enjoyed this book a lot. A thrilling story with a perfect choice of place, characters and action. Descriptions are so vivid that at some point in time you may feel as if you are at the same place with the characters of the book and have the same colourful scope of emotions as they did. I also liked that the book is about life and not some unreal man-made substance. Things that happened to people in the book can literally happen to anyone! As in the previous two novels the author grasped my attention right from the very first line and kept the intrigue till the very end; so don't you even think that you know it all until you reach the last letter of the book. In the end a surprise is waiting for you. Again, a very good asset to the action and drama is the cultural knowledge of the atmosphere and places of the country that I now want to visit very much. So I highly recommend the book. I felt sad as this was the last in the trilogy and Steve Conway's adventures were over but I understand that due to Conway's popularity, the author has decided to continue with a fourth book and I am happy to say I will meet Steve Conway again.

Conway becomes enmeshed in the world of undercover agents, assassination plots and political intrigue in a gripping page turner leaving the reader in suspense until the stunning surprise ending.
The author has lived and worked throughout Southeast Asia for well over twenty years. His in-depth knowledge of the customs and language of the region provide an air of authenticity as it transports the reader to the mysterious East.

The Last Tu Tuk to Bang Na -- a splendid romance/thriller without a moment's respite; love, lust, murder and intrigue with a true-to-life plot, accurately reflecting the steamy commercial underworld and sub-cultures of Southeast Asia. In his third novel in the series, author John Pullinger has elevated his action hero and star of the trilogy, Steve Conway, to cult status. Can't wait for more adventures.

Very useful book to reinforce one topic that has been jeopardizing many capital projects: HSE issues (the author names them as External Packages of Procurement regarding Procurement and Contract Risk Assessment.
I just didn't give 5 stars because it lacks some quantitative examples regarding cost-schedule analysis covering HSE.

Love, love, love this book! Just finished reading it and and will read it again at least one or two more times before the movie comes out 10/14/16. Can't wait for the movie even more so now! This book shines a light on so many topics that need to be not just recognized in our world today but they need to be addressed and in regards to human trafficking .. STOPPED!!! The "PRICELESS" movement that for King & Country promote and practice and challenge people with through their ministry and music is encouraging and inspiring. I am continually impressed with their ministry, their heart after God and heart for people! Love, love this book!!!

WE ARE PRICELESS IN HIS EYES

I just finished the book PRICELESS and I must say it was one book I couldn't put down. The subject of human trafficking is a story that needs to be told, not a pretty story, and I commend Joel and Luke Smallbone for telling it.
James Stevens, a man who had a good life until tragedy occurred and turned his life upside down. Feeling loss, staying angry, and becoming desperate, James takes on a job of driving a box truck across the country for a large sum of cash with no questions asked. The discovery of what his cargo is, takes him on a journey of saving the lives of two young women and countless others. You find a story of one man, James, who changes his way of thinking and finds his wavering faith that was lost. The characters are believable. I found myself pushing James along, even praying for him not to give up. His strength and determination kept me turning the pages to find the outcome. And his friend Dale, reminded me of a messenger from God helping James see his way. Antonia's faith in God and James to save her and Maria, unshakable. Will he make it in time to save these two? A love story unfolding within the pages of PRICELESS...a love not just between two people, but a love for others. A love that shows what it means to cherish, honor and respect another.
PRICELESS is a wake up call as to what is happening in our world, our country. The message from PRICELESS is this....we are ALL valuable in HIS eyes. And each and every one of are worthy of love and respect. One of my favorite lines from the book, "God knows that you're priceless."
I highly recommend reading PRICELESS and I'm looking forward to the movie.

Warning: it will make your stomach churn.

I don't write reviews unless it's for something that has bombed beyond belief and others should be warned, or has gone above and beyond expectations. And this has gone WAY beyond what I was expecting. It will churn your stomach, make your heart ache, and open your eyes to a world of hurt. But it will remind you that there is hope, and that someone does care. The story was incredible, and kept me going past midnight before I made myself put it down. And the ending was something better than what I was expecting. If you're looking for a romance story that makes you smile and feel good, this isn't for you. This is an eye opening, gut churning story about real life, and a guy who was given a second chance on life.

It makes it easy for a beginner like to me to learn

I am very much enjoying the color coded notes/chords. It makes it easy for a beginner like to me to learn. The chord wheels have thus far been very fun to use - I like how the I/IV/V wheel shows the chords with fingerings. I am having great fun playing different strumming patterns with a set of I/IV/V chords, then rotating the wheel, getting a different set of I/IV/V chords, and then trying the same strumming patterns again. I look forwards to mastering this product, and then purchasing the "advanced" version.
